Teen dies in northwest South Dakota rollover crash

REVA, S.D. — A 17-year-old male died Wednesday, May 6, in a one-vehicle crash near Reva, an unincorporated town in northwestern South Dakota.

The name of the person is not being released pending notification of family. He was the only person in the vehicle, a 2006 Dodge Ram pickup. The crash occurred at 11:39 a.m.

The vehicle was westbound on Sorum Road, east of the intersection with South Dakota Highway 79, when the driver lost control. The driver was not wearing a seat belt, and the vehicle tipped and rolled. The driver was ejected and later pronounced dead at the scene.

The South Dakota Highway patrol is investigating the crash.
