FARGO — Police say an 11-year-old boy died at the hospital after being found unresponsive in an above-ground swimming pool at a Fargo home late Thursday, June 6.

Police and ambulance service responded to a report of a medical emergency on the 1500 block of Fifth Avenue South just after 11 p.m. Responders pulled a child from a swimming pool shortly after arriving, according to scanner traffic.

A witness said they saw emergency responders performing CPR on the victim before placing him on a stretcher and loading him into an ambulance.

A group of people outside the home worked to disassemble the above-ground pool Thursday afternoon.
