Driver in fatal South Dakota rollover identified

TUTHILL, S.D. — An 83-year-old Martin woman was killed in vehicle rollover Tuesday, June 4, three miles north of Tuthill in the south-central part of the state.

The South Dakota Department of Public Safety said Leota Frandsen was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected in the crash. Officials said she was traveling around a curve when the vehicle left the roadway.

Frandsen was pronounced dead at the scene. She was driving a 2007 Chevrolet Malibu. Tuthill is an unincorporated town in Bennett County, about 15 miles east of Martin.

The South Dakota Highway Patrol investigated the crash.
