Teen identified in fatal crash in northwestern South Dakota

REVA, S.D. — A 17-year-old male was the driver in a one-vehicle fatal crash in the northwest corner of the state last week.

Jaxon Klempel, of Reva, died when the 2006 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup he was driving went off the road, tipped over and rolled on Wednesday.

The South Dakota Department of Public Safety said Klempel was not wearing a seat belt and he was thrown from the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Reva is an unincorporated town in northwestern South Dakota in Harding County.

The South Dakota Highway Patrol investigated the crash.
