BISMARCK — A woman was pronounced dead at the scene of a car crash in McKenzie County, N.D. on the morning of Thursday, Jan. 9.
The 58-year-old Alexander woman, who authorities have not yet named, was driving a Chevrolet Cavalier westbound on U.S. Highway 85 when she swerved into the eastbound lanes and struck a Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck head-on, according to the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
The driver of the truck, 27-year-old Timothy Wolfe, was taken by ambulance to a Williston hospital with serious injuries. Both drivers were restrained by seatbelts and airbags did deploy, according to the patrol.
The highway was blocked for about two hours and 30 minutes. The crash remains under investigation by the Highway Patrol.
