BISMARCK — The North Dakota Highway Patrol has identified the woman who died in a fatal crash Saturday morning, June 27, near Bismarck as Letha Farley, 57, of Bismarck.
According to the report, Susan Lachenmeier, 64, Bismarck, was driving a 2003 Chevrolet Blazer east on Interstate 94 in the left lane, traveling at 75 mph. Farley was driving a 1988 Toyota Camry east on I-94 in the right lane at an unknown speed, the patrol said.
As Lachenmeier attempted to pass, Farley turned left in front of Lachenmeier's Blazer, which struck the driver’s side of Farley's car. Farley was attempting to cross the median using the marked crossover.
Farley was taken by ambulance to Sanford Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead. Lachenmeier was taken to Sanford via private vehicle for treatment of minor injuries.
The North Dakota Highway Patrol's investigation into the crash is ongoing.
