The North Dakota Highway Patrol on Saturday evening identified the 18-year-old Cleveland, N.D., woman who died in a two-vehicle collision Friday, July 31.
Falynne Karlowsky was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash which occurred at 5:43 p.m. east of Jamestown at the intersection of 35th Street and 87th Avenue Southeast.
The patrol said Karlowsky was driving a 2012 Chevrolet Equinox eastbound on 35th Street Southeast that failed to yield through the intersection and was struck by a southbound 2014 Chevrolet Silverado driven by Jordan Hurt, 19, Clearwater, Minnesota.
The Silverado entered the east ditch of 87th Avenue Southeast and overturned. The Equinox traveled into the east ditch into a field. Kaje Gudmestad, 16, Medina, N.D., who was a passenger in the Equinox, was injured and was transported to Jamestown Regional Medical Center and flown by Sanford AirMed to Sanford Hospital in Fargo. Hurt was transported to Jamestown Regional Medical Center for treatment of his injuries. The drivers and passenger were wearing seat belts.
The crash is under investigation by the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
Also responding to the crash were Stutsman County Sheriff’s Office, Jamestown Police Department, Jamestown Fire and Rescue, Jamestown Ambulance and SanfordAirMed.
