JAMESTOWN, N.D. — A pair of vehicles collided Friday, July 31, at the intersection of 35th St. SE and 87th Ave. SE, just east of Jamestown, N.D., causing one fatality and leaving two others with serious injuries.
At 5:43 p.m., a Chevrolet Equinox, driven by an 18-year-old female, was traveling eastbound on 35th St. SE, while a Chevrolet Silverado, driven by a 19-year old male, was traveling southbound on 87th Ave. SE. Both vehicles continued through the intersection, according to the report, before the Silverado struck the Equinox on the front driver side door and quarter panel.
The female driver of the Equinox, from Cleveland, N.D., was pronounced deceased on the scene, according to North Dakota Highway Patrol. The passenger of the Equinox, a 16-year-old male from Medina, N.D., was transported to Jamestown Regional Medical Center, and eventually flown to Sanford Hospital in Fargo.
The driver of the Silverado, from Clearwater, Minn., was transported to Jamestown Regional Medical Center to be treated for his injuries. All members of the crash were wearing seat belts. The crash is under investigation by the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
