A 17-year-old boy was injured in a rollover crash at 10:35 a.m. Saturday 4 miles north of Ellendale, according to the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
The one-vehicle accident happened at 89th Avenue Southeast, a gravel road.
The patrol said the teen, who was driving a 2005 Chevrolet Suburban, was traveling southbound on 89th Ave Southeast when he lost control on the gravel roadway and overcorrected. The Suburban entered the east ditch, overturned and came to rest in a field facing north. The boy was transported to Sanford Hospital in Aberdeen, S.D., for treatment of injuries sustained in the crash. His seat belt use was not known.
The crash is under investigation by the North Dakota Highway Patrol. Also responding to the accident were the Dickey County Sheriff’s Department, Ellendale Police Department, Oakes Ambulance and Ellendale Rural Fire Department.
