WESTHOPE, N.D. — The North Dakota Highway Patrol has released the name of a 72-year-old Westhope man who died in a north-central North Dakota crash earlier this week.
Myron Lodoen died in the Bottineau County crash on Wednesday, April 28.
According to a release from the North Dakota Highway Patrol, Lodoen was driving a John Deere Gator around 8 a.m. Wednesday to a farmstead on Bottineau County Road 6, two miles west of Westhope.
Cyla McMechan, 18, of Antler, was traveling behind him in a 2008 GMC Acadia when she allegedly struck him from behind, according to the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
Lodoen and his passenger, 59-year-old David Mason of Westhope, were reportedly not wearing seat belts.
All three people were taken to Trinity Hospital by ambulance and Lodoen died, according to NDHP. McMechan was later released from the hospital.
No charges have been pressed against McMechan, but the crash remains under active investigation.
