BISMARCK — A motorcycle passenger was killed in a one-vehicle crash Wednesday night, June 9, in Burleigh County.
The North Dakota Highway Patrol reports that a 2006 Harley-Davidson was traveling southbound on 158th Street Southeast at Highway 1804, about 9 miles south of Menoken, N.D.
The driver, Michael Markus, 49, of Bismarck, braked and lost control, according to the report. The motorcycle overturned, crossed Highway 1804 and entered the highway’s south ditch near mile marker 61.
The passenger, Susan Lyon, 69, of Bismarck, was taken to CHI-St. Alexius Hospital where she was pronounced dead, according to the report. She was wearing a helmet.
Markus suffered non-life-threatening injuries, according to the report. He was not wearing a helmet.
This crash remains under investigation by the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
