Home modifications that can help the elderly stay in their own homes longer will be discussed at a presentation next month titled, "Aging in Place." The program will begin at 1 p.m. Aug. 9, at the James River Senior and Community Center, 502 10th Ave. S.E., Jamestown.
Susan Ray-Degees, professor of design, North Dakota State University, will share the research she and graduate student Emili Carlson recently completed on this topic. The target audiences for the presentation are anyone working with the elderly, advocates for elderly issues, and anyone else interested in this topic.
Register for the program by contacting the Stutsman County Extension Service at 252-9030 by Aug. 1. Cost of the program is $5 per person or $15 per agency/business, payable the day of the program. For further information, contact Eunice at the Extension Office.
