Arthur "Art" Oliver Storkson, 93, New Rockford, N.D., died Monday, July 23, 2007, at his home.
Mr. Storkson was born Jan. 2, 1914, in Binford, N.D., the son of Samuel and Emma (Olson) Storkson. He attended country school near Binford, and began farming with his father. He worked on a Civilian Conservation Corps project near Boise, Idaho, in 1936. He then returned to Binford and the family farm. He married Florence Nelson on June 24, 1942, in McHenry, N.D. He purchased the family farm where they farmed until 1968 when they moved to New Rockford. He worked at various jobs in town including a clerk at Stop N Shop where he was employed for nearly 26 years. She died Feb. 14, 1993. He enjoyed making and bottling various wines.
He is survived by a son, Allen (Shirley), New Rockford; a brother-in-law, Melvin Larson, Fargo, N.D.; a sister-in-law, Ann Storkson, Everett, Wash.; 12 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife; a brother, Harold; two sisters, Edna Wold and Olga Larson; and a great-grandson, Keith.
Services: 10 a.m. Friday, First Lutheran Church, New Rockford.
