The exhibition following the Jamestown Fine Arts Annual Art Show at the Arts Center will feature works of art that represent some aspect of automobiles. Car art is still needed for Autoworks: Visions of Vehicles.
"We have many race car enthusiasts and classic car fans in James-town and Arts Center staff thought it might be fun to show art that depicts or relates to automobiles," said Sally Jeppson, gallery manager. "This could be drawings, paintings or photographs of cars and trucks or sculptures, ceramics or assemblages of car parts."
There may also be people who are painting actual cars with spectacular images and graphics. Jeppson said that although the Arts Center can't fit a car in the gallery perhaps the artwork would be a design draft or door panel. This exhibit is meant to be as creative as the imagination allows and ideas are welcome.
"We are asking for people to contribute 'autowork' from their collections or make something car/truck-associated to be displayed in the Arts Center's gallery from June 24 to July 31," Jeppson said.
