The Jamestown 15-year-old Babe Ruth team placed third at the state tournament in West Fargo last weekend, going 3-2.
They opened with an 8-1 loss to Fargo, but bounced back with a 13-3 win over Wahpeton in five innings. Dakotah Walker got the win on the mound. Brandon Gange, Andrew Koehn and Chris Lane had three hits each.
Jamestown followed with a 6-5 win over Williston, getting the winning run in the bottom of the seventh. Tim Smith got the win on the mound and had three hits. Gange also collected three hits.
The Jamestown team won its third straight game in the tournament with a 14-8 win over Fargo, which had beaten them to open the tournament. Walker earned the win. Gange banged out three more hits and Smith added a pair.
Smith held West Fargo hitless through seven innings in the final game, but Jamestown fell 6-3 in eight innings. Koehn was saddled with the loss.

Other team members were Colin Hillius, Jordan Piatz, Spencer Kamoni, Evan Tollefson, Andrew Peterson and Cody Wegner.
