Train fatally strikes woman in Bismarck

Bismarck police are investigating the death of Jessica Solorzano, a 40-year-old from Bakersfield, California.

BISMARCK — A BNSF freight train struck and killed a woman seated on the tracks early Monday, Sept. 26, in Bismarck, authorities said.

Officers responded to the scene at about 3:45 a.m. Monday after receiving a call from BNSF employees, according to the Bismarck Police Department.

Jessica Solorzano, 40, of Bakersfield, California, was found dead on the tracks, police said. It's unclear why she was on the railway.

Bismarck police are investigating her death.
