INVER GROVE HEIGHTS, Minn. - A child was hospitalized after being struck by a vehicle in Inver Grove Heights on Friday night.
According to a news release from the Inver Grove Heights Police Department, the 8-year-old boy was attempting to cross the 7500 block of Concord Boulevard at about 8:15 p.m. when he was struck by a car driven by a 32-year-old South St. Paul man.
The boy was taken from the scene by ambulance. His identity has not been released and his condition is not known.
The driver stopped after the accident, rendered aid and is cooperating with authorities. There was no indication that drugs, alcohol or excessive speed were factors.
