Brake failure led to semi crash on bypass

The story "Semi crash makes a mess" on page A6 of Thursday's Sun requires clarification. The North Dakota Highway Patrol said Kale Michel, 19, 7560 46th St. SE, was driving a 1989 Peterbilt semi north on the U.S. Highway 52 bypass around 10:30 a.m. The patrol said the brakes failed and Michel was driving too fast to make a left-hand turn onto Stutsman County Road 40.
