Bismarck Art & Galleries Association will host the 33rd Annual Capital A'Fair Saturday and Sunday on the North Dakota State Capitol grounds.

Capital A'Fair is a summer art fair featuring more than 100 artists from across the country. More than 20 food booths will offer a tempting array of foods.

A group of sculptors and potters will do hourly demonstrations and provide the public with an opportunity to try their hand at pottery throwing on the wheel for a small fee. Linae Enockson will also demonstrate the old fashioned art of yarn spinning. Bismarck Parks and Recreation will sponsor children's activities from noon till four each day on the steps of the State Library. A temporary tattoo booth for children and adults will be located on the lawn by the World War II Memorial.

Caravan of Dreams, World Dance Troop comes to Bismarck from Bozeman, Montana. The group performs ethnic and contemporary styles of dance using music, costuming, props and visuals that invite audience participation. They will hold classes on Saturday, August 4 in the Heritage Center. Classes are as follows: 1-1:50 p.m Middle Eastern dance, belly dancing (ages 16-adult); 2-2:50 p.m. African tribal dance (children, ages 5-15); and 3-3:50 p.m. African Tribal Dance (ages 16-adult). Class cost: $10 in advance (pre-register at BAGA, 223-5986) or $12 at the door.

Live entertainment will take place on the main stage Saturday and Sunday. Vocal, dance and instrumental selections will be presented by a diverse group of entertainers. Featured dance groups are Caravan of Dreams, Montana; Polish National Alliance Dancers, Dickinson; and Raices de Mexico Dance Group, Moorhead, Minnesota.

A new attraction this year is sidewalk chalk art. Artists will work on chalk drawings on the sidewalk located in front of the Capitol steps. Stop by and watch the artists create a work of art on a 10' by 10' square.

Stroll through the Mustang and Ford Classic Car Show located in the north parking lot on Sunday. For easy transportation, park at Kirkwood Mall or Gateway and ride the CAT.

Bring the family to the Bismarck Capitol grounds and enjoy the sights and sounds of Capital A'Fair from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
