Carlson appointed to EPA committee

Robert Carlson, president of the North Dakota Farmers Union, has been appointed to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's Farm, Ranch and Rural Communities Committee. His appointment will run through May, 2012.

Robert Carlson, president of the North Dakota Farmers Union, has been appointed to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's Farm, Ranch and Rural Communities Committee. His appointment will run through May, 2012.

"I am very excited to have a seat at the table," Carlson said in a press release. "Demonstrating the importance of farmers and ranchers in regards to environmental issues on how the agriculture industry is part of the solution is critical."

The Farm, Ranch and Rural Communities Committee is charged with providing the agriculture industry and rural community perspective on environmental issues such as international trade, carbon credit programs and general environmental policy.
