The cause of a fire that destroyed a Jamestown mobile home on Monday is not known, according to the Jamestown Fire Department.
Lt. Sheldon Mohr of the Fire Department said Thursday that the cause of the afternoon blaze was undetermined. The amount of the loss is also not known without knowing the value of the trailer located at 154 Sunnyside Mobile Manor, he said.
Stutsman County Communications Center received the fire call at 1:55 p.m. Mohr said earlier that radiant heat damage melted siding on a neighbor’s trailer.
The owner and occupant Daniel Lang said he had lived in the trailer for the 13 years. He said the home was not insured.
Volunteers from the American Red Cross – Dakotas Region provided Lang and another resident with temporary shelter and other services. Calls to Sunnyside Mobile Manor were not answered.
