Community Development Block Grant funding was awarded to Region VI communities, the South Central Dakota Regional Council announced Monday, Nov. 21.
The South Central Dakota Regional Council said a total of $336,000 was awarded for 2022 and $115,000 was awarded for 2021 funding.
The CDBG program provides financial assistance to eligible units of local governments in the form of grants for public facilities, public services, housing rehabilitation and economic development projects.
Fiscal year 2022 CDBG award recipients include:
- The city of Harvey was awarded $175,000 for the rehabilitation of the water and sewer system.
- The city of Woodworth was awarded $161,000 for the rehabilitation of the water and sewer system.

- The city of Medina was awarded $115,000 for the city’s water project.
The state of North Dakota scored and ranked the 2022 projects, which will continue so regional councils can quote to administer CDBG projects.
