Central Minnesota man arrested with gun after alleged domestic assault

ALDRICH, Minn. - An armed man here was taken into custody by the Wadena County Sheriff's Office after a report that he was involved in a domestic disturbance and then walked into a wooded area with a gun on Monday.

ALDRICH, Minn. - An armed man here was taken into custody by the Wadena County Sheriff's Office after a report that he was involved in a domestic disturbance and then walked into a wooded area with a gun on Monday.

Authorities responded to a call of a domestic in progress about 8:10 p.m. A caller reported that Mark Wonders, 43, of Aldrich, was armed and had walked into a wooded area. Officers from several agencies then surrounded the woods.

Wonders, who was arrested without incident, told authorities he had a gun but no ammunition, the sheriff's office said in a news release.

Wonders was arrested for domestic assault and taken to the Wadena County Jail. The sheriff's office said more charges may come after further investigation.

Aldrich is located between Wadena and Staples on U.S. Highway 10.
