Character in?Leadership Conference set

The 2007 Character in Leadership Conference is scheduled from 6 to 9 p.m. Sept. 27 at the Unruh-Sheldon Center and DeNault Auditorium in the Reiland Fine Arts Center of Jamestown College.

The 2007 Character in Leadership Conference is scheduled from 6 to 9 p.m. Sept. 27 at the Unruh-Sheldon Center and DeNault Auditorium in the Reiland Fine Arts Center of Jamestown College.

The keynote speaker is Ken Medema, who has a master's degree in music therapy from Michigan Starte University. In 1985, he founded Brier Patch Music. He and his company record music that celebrates all aspects of the human experience, with an emphasis on spirituality and other universal concrens like peace, justice, hunger, homelessness and the environment.

The schedule is as follows: 6 to 6:30 p.m., hors d'oeuvres in lobby of Unruh-Sheldon Center; 6:30 to 7:15 a.m., seminars begin. Those attending will choose one from the following: Jack Dalrymple, Casselton, North Dakota lieutenant governor; Shirley Dykshoorn, Bismarck, lead director, Fannie Mae, Great Plains area; the Rev. Daniel Wolpert, Crookston, Minn., author, "Leading a Life with God: The Practice of Spiritual Leadership; and Lynnette Patrick, Jamestown, Milken National Educator Award.

Medema's address on "Servant Leadership" is slated from 7:30 to 9 p.m. Also featured will be the Jamestown College Concert Choir.

Tickets are $10 per person, available through the box office at Jamestown College. Tickets may be requested by mail, phone or e-mail. Indicate seminar speaker choice when registering. Seating for the public is limited to 250 people.
