PARK RAPIDS, Minn. -- A one-year-old child was killed Monday evening after being hit by a vehicle at the child’s home near Park Rapids.
According to the Hubbard County Sheriff's Office, Roderick Dewinter, 51, of Park Rapids, had driven to the child's residence on Dovetail Road near Park Rapids. As he was going to move his vehicle, the child was struck and run over, the release said. The emergency call came into the sheriff's office at 8 p.m. When officers arrived, the child was pronounced dead at the scene, the release said.
The incident remains under investigation by the sheriff's office.
