United Sportsmen of Jamestown held its annual bird seed giveaway on Friday at the James Valley Career & Technology Center. This year 8,250 pounds of sunflower seeds, donated by Reuben Liechty, were given away within 90 minutes. Appreciation was expressed to Liechty, to Neil Kramer for the use of the truck that contained the seed and the volunteers for the club who worked the event.

The project includes paving 12th Avenue Southeast from 5th to 6th Street Southeast.
“Let’s put this in the rearview mirror,” Sen. Michael Diedrich, a Rapid City Republican said.
The project will enhance riparian park woodlands along the James River.
