Northern Plains Electric and Basin Electric Cooperatives are offering a $1,000 scholarship to a dependent of a member of Northern Plains Electric Cooperative for the 2017-2018 school year.

Each of the 137 rural electric cooperatives that make up Basin Electric, including Northern Plains Electric Cooperative, receives $1,000 from Basin Electric to award a scholarship to a dependent of a consumer of Northern Plains who will enroll as a freshman in college in the fall of 2017.

The scholarship program, which is in its 26th year, recognizes and encourages the academic achievements of students in the region. It also serves as an investment in the economic future of rural areas.

Each member cooperative will select the scholarship winner from its consumers’ dependents applicant pool.
