A worker who experienced a medical emergency while he was 150 feet up inside a Stutsman Rural Water District water tower was rescued by the Jamestown Fire Department early Thursday evening.
Jamestown Area Ambulance brought the worker to Jamestown Regional Medical Center.
Medical responders were not able to reach the victim who complained of breathing issues and no feeling in his legs, according to Jamestown Fire Chief Jim Reuther.
Reuther said firefighters reached the victim using a construction cart while tethered with safety harnesses. A Stokes stretcher was sent up on a line and the victim was secured when he was not able to climb out on his own.
Jamestown police officers escorted a crane belonging to Dan Poland Machine Inc. to help get the victim to the ground.
