ABERDEEN, S.D. -- A federal jury has found a Milwaukee, Wis., man guilty of six counts of aggravated sexual abuse of a child and abusive sexual contact with a child for repeatedly sexually abusing two minor victims for more than a two-year period.
The verdict for DaShown Keys, 25, was returned on Thursday, Dec. 7, in federal court in Aberdeen.
The charges carry a mandatory minimum sentence of 30 years and up to a maximum of life in custody and/or a $1.5 million fine.
Keys was indicted by a federal grand jury on June 14, 2016, after incidents were reported from Nov. 1, 2013, to Jan. 1, 2016, while Keys was staying at the home of one of the victims in Agency Village in far northeast South Dakota.
The case was investigated by the FBI and the Sisseton-Wahpeton Tribal Police Department.
A presentence investigation was ordered and a sentencing date has not been set. Keys was taken into custody.
