Foot chase ends in arrest
A wanted man was captured after a brief foot chase on Monday, according to Maj. Justin Blinsky, assistant chief of Jamestown Police Department.
Robert Lee, 43, no address available, was apprehended shortly after 4 p.m. by JPD officers with support from Stutsman County Sheriff’s Office and the Stutsman County Drug Task Force, Blinsky said.
Lee is being held at Stutsman County Correctional Center on an outstanding warrant for two counts burglary and two counts of theft of property in Foster County. He is also awaiting formal charges on subsequent offenses of failure to halt, possession of a controlled substance-methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia-methamphetamine.
A JPD officer made contact with Lee on Monday morning and later learned of the outstanding warrants, Blinsky said. Lee was located at 3:54 p.m. by officers in the 600 block of 6th Avenue East, he said.
Lee fled on foot while an officer attempted to arrest him, Blinsky said. He was apprehended soon after in the area of 6th Avenue and 18th Street Northeast, he said.
