Sex offenders move to Jamestown
Two high-risk registered sex offenders have moved into the city, according to the Jamestown Police Department.
Travis Shane Morin, 33, lives at the Buffalo Motel, room 26, 1530 6th Ave. SW.
Morin does not have a vehicle.
Morin is described as an American Indian male, 5 feet 10 inches tall, weighing 240 pounds with brown eyes and brown hair.
Morin was convicted in 2015 in Morton County of possession of material - sex conduct by minor and promote minor obscene sexual performance. Authorities said Morin possessed still images of child pornography and videos on his cellphone and laptop and recorded himself and a boy taking part separately in a sex act.
Morin is on probation with North Dakota Probation and Parole.
Sandy Lee Mangelsen, 31, lives at 316 ½ 5th Ave. NE. He drives a white 2001 Chevrolet Silverado, North Dakota license 280CEH.
Mangelsen is described as a while male, 6 feet 1 inch tall, weighing 185 pounds with green eyes and blond hair.
Mangelsen was convicted in 2006 in Codington District Court in South Dakota of sexual contact with a child under the age of 16. Authorities said Mangelsen had sexual contact with two girls, ages 13 and 14. Police found out about the offense when they were investigating Mangelsen in a sexual contact incident involving a 19-year-old woman.
As a registered sex offender, Mangelsen was convicted of gross sexual imposition in 2007 in Grand Forks County District Court. Authorities said he had sexual contact with a 14-year-old girl near a school.
Morin and Mangelsen have been assigned a high risk assessment by the North Dakota risk level committee, Office of the Attorney General. They are not wanted by law enforcement.
