One sentenced on felony charge
One person was sentenced on a felony charge recently in Southeast District Court in Jamestown.
Shanna Beth Speidel, 39, Eldridge, N.D., pleaded guilty to child neglect or abuse, a Class C felony.
Speidel was accused of inflicting or allowing mental or bodily injury to a child on March 26, 2018.
Judge Troy LeFevre sentenced Speidel to one day in the Stutsman County Correctional Center with credit for one day served. Speidel was placed on one year supervised probation, given a one-year deferred imposition of sentence and was ordered to pay a $35 indigent defense application fee and $25 victim-witness fee.
Individuals with a deferred imposition of sentence will have the charge or charges dismissed at the end of the deferred imposition if they have met the conditions of the sentence.
A Class C felony is punishable by five years in prison and a $10,000 fine.
