Jamestown High School locked down Thursday after a report of a person with a handgun approaching the school and then leaving at about 2 p.m. Thursday. No entry was gained. The person was identified and law enforcement officers took him into custody about 2:20 p.m. at his home about one block from the school. At that time, the weapon was identified as an airsoft handgun that is capable of firing plastic or rubber BBs.

Police have not identified the suspect.

Reports on the incident were forwarded to the Stutsman County state’s attorney's office for review and any determination of possible charges, Edinger said.
