One person was sentenced on felony charges recently in Southeast District Court in Jamestown.
Melissa Lynn Murdock, 42, Streeter, N.D., pleaded guilty to endangerment of a child and child neglect, Class C felonies, and possession of drug paraphernalia, a Class A misdemeanor.
Murdock was accused of causing or permitting minor children to be exposed to methamphetamine, maintaining a home in unsanitary and unsafe conditions and possessing one or more pipes intended for use with methamphetamine between July 1 and Nov. 15, 2018.
Judge Troy LeFevre sentenced Murdock to 18 days in the Stutsman County Correctional Center with credit for 18 days served. Murdock was placed on 18 months supervised probation and ordered to pay a $200 criminal administration fee, $100 defense/facility administration fee, $35 indigent defense application fee, $100 indigent recoupment and $25 victim-witness fee.
A Class C felony is punishable by five years in prison and a $10,000 fine. A Class A misdemeanor is punishable by one year in prison and a $3,000 fine.
