One person was sentenced on a felony charge recently in Southeast District Court in Jamestown.
Yorishia Martina Hoon, 35, McLaughlin, S.D., pleaded guilty to burglary, a Class C felony, burglary and theft of property, deemed misdemeanors, and criminal trespass and possession of a controlled substance, Class A misdemeanors.
Hoon was accused of entering a building to steal property on Oct. 27 and Oct. 29, taking property valued at more than $1,000, trespassing on property and possessing oxycodone not obtained by a prescription on or about Oct. 27.
Judge Cherie Clark sentenced Hoon to 120 days in the Stutsman County Correctional Center with credit for 93 days served. Hoon was placed on 12 months supervised probation, ordered to undergo a diagnostic assessment for mental health and chemical dependency, follow through with any recommendations for treatment and not go within 100 yards of a person or his home or within 200 yards of that person's business.
Hoon was ordered to pay $2,500 restitution.
A Class C felony is punishable by five years in prison and a $10,000 fine. A Class A misdemeanor is punishable by one year in prison and a $3,000 fine.
