Delphine "Del" Bouck, 66, Sanborn, N.D., died Saturday, June 30, 2007, at MeritCare Hospital, Fargo, N.D., following a battle with cancer.
Delphine J. Haas was born Nov. 12, 1940, at Clewiston, Fla., the daughter of Joe and Beatrice (Coleman) Haas. She grew up on the family farm at Sanborn, and attended rural Bowers grade school through the eighth grade. She graduated from Sanborn High School. She attended Jamestown Business College and worked for a Jamestown bank. She then worked for the ASC, Jamestown. She later worked for CH Carpenter Lumber Co., as office manager, was a deputy clerk of court and worked for Cenex as an office manager, all in Valley City, N.D. In the early '70s, she moved to Devils Lake, N.D., where she worked at School for the Deaf as a caregiver. She then worked for Great Plains Lumber Co., as an office manager and later Robertson Lumber Co., as assistant manager. She married Gerald Bouck. They moved to western North Dakota in the early '80s, where she worked for Mon-Dak Convenience Store, Watford City, N.D., as manager. She was promoted to district manager, overseeing stores in Bowman, N.D., New Town, N.D., Watford City and Dickinson, N.D. They returned to the Valley City area in the early '90s. They later moved to her family's farmstead. She worked at the Open Door Center, Valley City, as a caregiver until shortly before her death. She enjoyed reading the Bible and watching birds and deer in her yard.
She is survived by her husband; a son, Brian (Joyce) Straus, Devils Lake; a daughter, Brenda (Rob) Wahl, Bismarck, N.D.; a stepson, Michael (Gina) Bouck, Grants Pass, Ore.; a stepdaughter, Jennifer (Craig) Pindar, Grants Pass; and her mother, Sanborn.
She was preceded in death by her father and a stepson, Steven Bouck.
