DEVILS LAKE, N.D. (AP) -- Devils Lake's new mayor says he's up for the challenge of leading the city that has been dealing with the flooded lake of the same name for close to two decades.
Dick Johnson has been a city commissioner for 22 years and says the experience has prepared him.
Johnson is replacing Fred Bott, who decided this year not to seek a sixth four-year term as mayor. Johnson had no opposition in the election earlier this month.
