The North Dakota LifeSmarts state championship will be held Wednesday, Feb. 5, at Bismarck, according to Wayne Stenehjem, attorney general for North Dakota.
North Dakota high schools participating are Jamestown, Flasher, TGU Granville, Burke Central, Tioga, TGU Towner, Bottineau, Fessenden-Bowdon, Bowbells and Litchville- Marion. Bowbells is a new competitor this year.
The 10 schools are sending 14 teams to the competition the tests students on personal finance, health and safety, the environment, technology and consumer rights and responsibilities.
All teams will compete in the first two rounds with the top three teams advancing to the final round.
The LifeSmarts competition is in its 22nd year and is sponsored by a number of North Dakota organizations.
Members of the public are encouraged to attend and support the students.
