ELECTION RESULTS: Road measure fails; Andersen elected mayor

In Jamestown, voters chose Katie Andersen to be the next city mayor. Andersen received 1,141 votes. Ramone Gumke was elected to the open City Council seat.

Jamestown voters also approved a measure to provide funds to the James River Humane Society using a half-mill levy.

Greg Allen will stay on the Jamestown Public School Board, while fellow incumbent Mindi Grieve will not. Challenger Shelly Jystad won a seat on the board.

On the Jamestown Parks and Recreation, all three commissioners up for re-election -- Larry Knoblich, Mike Landscoot and Joyce Heinrich -- will keep their seats. Heinrich had only 13 more votes than challenger Ron Olson.

The measure to continue the 911 fee collected on all phone lines in Stutsman County also passed.

There were 4,615 ballots cast in the election in Stutsman County.
