MINOT, N.D. (AP) -- The Environmental Protection Agency says it has completed its response to this year's Souris River flooding in Minot.

EPA staff first went to Minot in early July at the request of the city, state and federal governments. The final shipments of waste from the city happened in late September.

Record Souris River flooding swamped more than 4,000 homes in the city this summer, along with some businesses and other areas such as city parks. EPA officials worked on such duties as removing household hazardous wastes, decontaminating appliances and electronics for recycling, collecting scattered containers of such things as paint and gas, and conducting air and soil sampling.
