BISMARCK (AP) -- Officials with North Dakota's Children and Family Services say they're searching for families willing to provide homes for children in need.
Last year, there were 285 adoptions in the state. Services Director Julie Hoffman said that while that number seems big, there are still hundreds of children without homes.
KXMC-TV repored that Hoffman highlighted one family as an example of how wonderful adoption can be. Stacy and Michael Sweeny of Williston are parents to nine children, six of whom are adopted.
The family adopted five children from Ethiopia. They were awarded the Multi Cultural award from Catholic Family Charities.
Stacy Sweeny said her family has "fallen in love with a country that we never expected to."

Hoffman said families don't need an abundance of time or money -- just love.
