FARGO, N.D. (AP) -- Fargodome officials say net income through the first five months of the year is $139,000 more than budgeted.
In Grand Forks, officials are pondering an Alerus Center budget that shows a $134,000 loss at the end of 2011.
Fargodome general manager Rob Sobolik says finances have been bolstered by Nickelback and Bon Jovi concerts and other events. He says a recent Carrie Underwood concert also was a big draw.
If the Grand Forks City Council adopts a deficit budget for the Alerus, it would be the first time in the arena's history.
Doug Kuhnel with manager VenuWorks says the concert industry has been routing around Grand Forks because of poor sales in several major concerts that the Alerus booked in 2008 and 2009.
