The Jamestown Rural Fire Department responded to a barnyard fire about 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, according to Rick Woehl, assistant fire chief. The fire was located west of Smokey's Campground and landing.
The fire was in a farm feedlot and burned "rubbish hay'" and dry grass along the road ditch. There was no damage or injuries related to the fire.
Woehl said eight trucks and 16 firefighters responded and were on the scene for about a half hour. The fire was the fourth the department responded to in a 24-hour period.
