BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) -- A fiery head-on collision on N.D. Highway 1804 south of Bismarck killed two people, injured a third and forced the shutdown of the highway for about three hours.
The Highway Patrol did not immediately identify the victims of the crash that occurred about 3 p.m. Thursday a few miles south of the University of Mary.
The male drivers of the car and sport utility vehicle were killed. A female passenger in the SUV was injured.
The patrol says the driver of the SUV failed to negotiate a curve in the road and drove into the oncoming lane, hitting the car. The SUV overturned in the ditch and burned.
