Fire destroys grain dryer

A grain dryer was destroyed in a fire Thursday night near of Ypsilanti, N.D., said Eric Haas, secre-tary/treasurer of the Jamestown Rural Fire Department. There were no injuries.

The fire was called in at 7:50 p.m., Haas said. It was located about 2 miles east of Ypsilanti on Stutsman County Road 32.

Nine firefighters, a pumper truck, tanker truck and grass truck were on the scene until after 10 p.m., he said.

No cause has been determined for the fire yet. The grain dryer was valued at $130,000, not including the 500 bushels of corn inside it, Haas said. The fire is under investigation.
