The Jamestown Rural Fire Department responded to a fire near Ypsilanti Wednesday at 9307 43rd St. SE, according to Brian Paulson, chief of the department.

Paulson said a fifth-wheel camper was a total loss due to the fire which started in the electrical system during maintenance.

The JRFD responded with 17 firefighters in six fire trucks and were on the scene about 90 minutes.
