Correctional Officer Curt Fischer was chosen Employee of the Month for June for the James River Correctional Center. Fischer recently completed the job assignment of construction officer and is currently working on the housing unit.
Fischer was recognized for doing an "exceptional job" when filling in for the caseworker on the unit, officials said. He ensures all duties are completed and holds the inmates accountable. Fischer stayed in town for three days during a snowstorm at the end of March to assist with filling shifts when other staff were not able to make it to work, even though he had duties that needed attention at home.
Fischer was selected for employee of the month due to his work ethic, his abilities, and his contributions to the JRCC.?
