A Forbes man is facing multiple assault charges related to children in Dickey County.
Robert Sturgis Miner, 49, was arrested Tuesday by the Dickey County Sheriff’s Office north of Forbes, with support from the James River Special Operations Team, the Red River Valley SWAT, North Dakota Highway Patrol and North Dakota Bureau of Criminal Investigation.
Miner was charged on Jan. 17 in Southeast District Court in Dickey County with two counts of aggravated assault, a Class B felony.
According to the criminal complaint, Miner is accused of causing serious bodily injury to a child on Dec. 22 by kicking the child in the legs, causing extreme pain and bruising, and thrusting the child’s hand in hot gravy on Jan. 9, causing extreme pain and blistering.
On Wednesday, Dickey County State’s Attorney Gary Neuharth filed charges of child neglect and aggravated assault domestic, both Class C felonies.

According to court documents, Miner has assaulted children related to him and also assaulted an adult sometime in August 2014.
Miner is in custody in the Stutsman County Correctional Center with bond set at $20,000.
