BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) -- A former Three Affiliated Tribes police officer has been sentenced to 90 days of unsupervised probation for interfering with a telephone during an emergency call.

Federal authorities say 47-year-old Anibal Fernandez was sentenced Wednesday after pleading guilty to the charge.

Authorities says Fernandez was involved in a dispute at his home. During the dispute, Fernandez took a cell phone away from a person and broke the phone, while that person was attempting to call law enforcement officials.

Fernandez was a tribal police officer at the time.
