BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) -- Fall is officially still a week away, but cooler weather isn't waiting in North Dakota.

The National Weather Service says a freeze watch is in effect late Friday through Saturday morning for the northwest and north central parts of the state.

Officials say people should cover sensitive plants or move them indoors.

Some cities in the watch area include Williston, New Town, Minot, Bottineau and Rugby.
